Men’s Rolex GMT-Master II 16713 Black Dial

Original price was: $10,284.86.Current price is: $295.00.
Rolex GMT-Master II ref 16713 (1993 - 1994) has a fascinating history.  Rolex introduced the GMT Master II in the 1980s via ref. 16760 featuring a similar design as the previous GMT but with an independent 24-hour hand.  This innovation required a slightly thicker movement and a thicker case to house it. However it didn't remain in production for long. In true Rolex fashion the Crown replaced the ref. 16760 with ref. 16710 which featured a thinner movement and case for a better wrist-wearing experience.  This watch was a massive success and remained in production until the mid-2000s when it was discontinued and replaced with the first ceramic bezel generation.  Ref. 16713 is the steel and gold edition of that famous watch.  It was produced in the 1990s and features Tritium a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal with a laser-etched coronet at 6 o'clock and the caliber 3185.

This GMT is in great attractive vintage condition consistent with age. The case is in good condition with normal signs of wear. The red-back bezel is in great condition; the blue portion has faded beautifully and the red has remained vibrant. The inner case back is stamped "1675" and "11.72". Serial and reference numbers are visible. The blue has taken on a lovely aqua color while the red is leaning a bit raspberry colored. The Mark II dial is in great condition with light patina. The lume on the dial has developed patina and is a lovely creamy color. The hands have developed patina and the lume in them has aged to a similar color as the lume on the dial; the hour and seconds hand are a bit darker than the others. The 7836 folded Oyster bracelet has 12 links and 358 end-links. The back of the clasp is stamped "72" indicating it is from 1972. The bracelet is in attractive condition with normal signs of wear with stretch between the links which is not uncommon.
