Rolex Datejust ref 16263 (1987 - 1988) is known as the Rolex Thunderbird.  As the story goes Rolex supplied Datejust Turn-o-Graphs to the American Thunderbird U.S. Air Force demonstration team throughout the 1950s and 1960s.  They were essentially traditional Datejust dress watches but with a rotatable bezel not too unlike the two-tone Rolex for sale here. While early examples were also emblazoned with the Thunderbird logo this ref. 16253 is a much more approachable example of the famed Rolex.  Features include traditional Datejust design elements such as a champagne dial a date display at 3 o'clock and a 5-piece link Jubilee bracelet.
