This GMT is in great attractive vintage condition consistent with age. The case is in good condition with normal signs of wear. The red-back bezel is in great condition; the blue portion has faded beautifully and the red has remained vibrant. The inner case back is stamped "1675" and "11.72". Serial and reference numbers are visible. The blue has taken on a lovely aqua color while the red is leaning a bit raspberry colored. The Mark II dial is in great condition with light patina. The lume on the dial has developed patina and is a lovely creamy color. The hands have developed patina and the lume in them has aged to a similar color as the lume on the dial; the hour and seconds hand are a bit darker than the others. The 7836 folded Oyster bracelet has 12 links and 358 end-links. The back of the clasp is stamped "72" indicating it is from 1972. The bracelet is in attractive condition with normal signs of wear with stretch between the links which is not uncommon.

Rolex GMT-Master ref 16700 (1995) was developed as a dual-time tool watch. By reading the arrow hand against the 24-hour bi-directional rotatable bezel the wearer can keep track of both home and local time simultaneously. Ref. 16700 is the last of the GMT Master references before it was discontinued and replaced by the GMT Master II. It's a prized collector's item for its nostalgic design set and its place in Rolex history. The example you see here is even more desirable because it also features what many refer to as a Rolex Pepsi bezel featuring a red and blue insert to distinguish between day and night hours.
