Patek Philippe released the first Nautilus chronograph in 2006 via ref. 5980. The innovative watch also featured the gradient horizontal stripe dial which was quite the innovation for Patek Philippe at the time. The blue shades on the example you see here play nicely against the brushed and satin-finished stainless steel. The dial is decorated with handsome white gold-trimmed hour markers and hands and a striking mono-counter combining chronograph minutes and hours on the same sub-dial. The Patek 5980/1A-001 sits quite nicely on most wrist sizes at 40.5mm in diameter and just under 13mm thick.
