Rolex GMT Master ref 16700 (1979) delivers the iconic pilot's watch aesthetic that many passionate Rolex collectors are after and holds a special place in Rolex history as the last of the GMT Master models. Rolex would eventually discontinue the ref. 16700 in favor of the then-new GMT Master II. However this model remained in production for many years alongside its successor and was a very attractive alternative because of its affordable price point and iconic design set. While Rolex produced a few variations of ref. 16700 the Pepsi bezel remains one of the most sought-after because it features the same two-tone colorway as the inaugural model from the 1950s.
