Men’s Rolex GMT-Master II 16713 Black Dial

Rolex GMT-Master II ref 16713 (1993 - 1994) has a fascinating history.  Rolex introduced the GMT Master II in the 1980s via ref. 16760 featuring a similar design as the previous GMT but with an independent 24-hour hand.  This innovation required a slightly thicker movement and a thicker case to house it. However it didn't remain in production for long. In true Rolex fashion the Crown replaced the ref. 16760 with ref. 16710 which featured a thinner movement and case for a better wrist-wearing experience.  This watch was a massive success and remained in production until the mid-2000s when it was discontinued and replaced with the first ceramic bezel generation.  Ref. 16713 is the steel and gold edition of that famous watch.  It was produced in the 1990s and features Tritium a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal with a laser-etched coronet at 6 o'clock and the caliber 3185.

Pre-Owned Rolex GMT-Master II ref 16710 Black Dial

Original price was: $12,342.86.Current price is: $295.00.

Rolex GMT-Master ref 16710 (2000 - 2001) was the second iteration of the series when it came to market in the late 1980s. It replaced the inaugural ref. 16760 and brought with it a sleeker movement and case. This update was important because when the GMT Master II debuted alongside ref. 16760 it required a thicker case to accommodate the then-new independent GMT hand. By refining this feature ref. 16710 became a staple of the Rolex portfolio only bowing out in the 2000s to make way for the first ceramic bezel models. The iconic pilot's watch sports a black bezel to match the dial a design set many collectors are after. Produced in the early 2000s this example also features Super-LumiNova and a high-beat movement with hacking seconds and a Quickset date.

Original price was: $14,400.86.Current price is: $268.00.
Rolex GMT-Master II ref 116713 (2006 - 2007) was the first two-tone model to sport a ceramic bezel; previously the iconic pilot's watch was outfitted with an aluminum bezel. With this upgrade comes a different bezel mounting that operates on 24 clicks instead of 120 and a lustrous and much more resilient ceramic "Cerachrom" insert. When Rolex introduced the first 6-digit generation it also upgraded the crystal with an anti-reflective Cyclops magnifier and outfitted the watch with a then-new caliber 3186 movement with improved anti-magnetic properties. This model has since been discontinued in favor of the current 1267XX generation making it desirable among collectors.
